A Look Back: DRIVE EXPO WEST

DRIVE EXPO WEST is in the history books! We’d like to give a huge thanks to everyone that made it out; all of our fantastic guests, speakers, and shops. You all made this event special and we look forward to continuing to cultivate a bigger and better experience for you every year.

This EXPO counted more shop owners than we’ve ever had, an amazing group of industry leaders, and top-notch exhibitors converging on the Los Angeles Fairgrounds for 3 days of learning, networking, and growth.

EXPO weekend was packed with a dizzying amount of great content and big announcements. Here are some highlights from the weekend’s events:

DRIVE EXPO is now an annual event

The once bi-annual DRIVE EXPO will now focus both events into one event with double the impact. That means a bigger production, more exhibitors, more great speakers, and a universally unmatched learning experience.

Join us next year on the Los Angeles Fairgrounds at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel & Conference Center for DRIVE EXPO 2020, taking place on August 28th-30th, 2020!

Keynote from Chris Chesney

Carquest Technical Institute’s Chris Chesney delivered a strong keynote, hitting on one of the most significant issues facing shops today, the trouble finding technicians.

Seldom can you go out and cherry-pick a good, experienced technician. Chesney trumpeted the need to introduce new talent into the industry and keep them there with programs geared towards development, respect, and opportunity.

Every master tech started somewhere and creating that environment makes your shop a beacon for talent.

Award Presentations

DRIVE recognized clients who have sustained high production and efficiency benchmarks. Effective Shop Manager, Competent Shop Owner and the coveted and hard earned, Master of Shop Management Award which recognizes a shop that is efficient, stable and profitable.

#Coffeegate

And if there’s one lesson we learned, it’s don’t get in between someone and their coffee.

We heard you loud and clear!

Wild Wild West Theme Party

The looming threat of gloomy weather couldn’t stop us from throwing the best party this side of the Mississippi. With a great mix of steampunk and honky-tonk, we celebrated all of our shop owners and their accomplishments.
