Real growth. Real recognition. Real results
Running an auto repair, collision shop or truck shop isn’t just about fixing vehicles – it’s about building a business, leading a team and creating a better life. That’s why the DRIVE Management Certification Program is more than just a series of awards. It’s a proven roadmap for business owners who are serious about stepping up, leveling up and staying up.
These certifications honor shop owners who’ve done just that – those who’ve transformed their shops from surviving to thriving powerhouses of productivity, profit and team alignment. From small rural start-ups to well-established urban shops, the DRIVE Certification Program recognizes all those who commit to mastering their craft – not just in the bay, but in the office.
Five Levels of Recognition—Each One Earned, Not Given
The DRIVE Management Certification Program includes five escalating levels of achievement:
- Effective Shop Manager – The starting line for those proving their ability to run an organized and profitable shop.
- Professional Shop Owner – A milestone that reflects solid financial health and strong leadership skills.
- Master of Shop Management – Awarded to those who demonstrate business acumen, hit key production benchmarks and operate at Stage III with consistency.
- Master Elite of Shop Management – Reserved for shop owners who have reached Stage IV, showcase mastery of DRIVE’s tools and maintain 20% personal compensation.
- Sustained Master Elite – The ultimate recognition for those who not only reach the top but stay there. It signifies ongoing success, constant learning and long-term business stability.
Each level is a rigorous process requiring real evidence – measurable progress, financial performance and operational excellence. Shop owners earn these honors by applying the DRIVE tools, completing detailed checklists with their coaches and showing results in the real world.
As Larry Monroe of DRIVE explains:

Larry Monroe
“This is a very exciting process where we give challenges to DRIVE Clients to grow their businesses – and their skills as owners – to the next level. When they hit the marks, they’re awarded for all their hard work. They love the game – and everyone wins. Their teams win. Their customers win. They win.”
More Than a Trophy
For shop owners, the certifications are deeply personal. They represent late nights, tough calls, hiring challenges, financial leaps and real breakthroughs. At the annual DRIVE EXPO, these efforts are celebrated in a way that goes far beyond the typical awards ceremony.
“The emotions bubble to the surface,” says Larry. “When shop owners realize they’re being recognized – not just for revenue or numbers, but for leadership, for changing their businesses and lives – it means everything.”
Martha Seidler of DRIVE shares a story that captures this perfectly. At a past EXPO, Kris and Dan from Olympic Truck Service stood on stage, reflecting on their journey from chaos to control. They shared their software migration challenges, team struggles and the deep impact COVID had on their business. Through it all, they leaned on the DRIVE tools, stuck with their checklists and kept pushing forward. Check out the Bullinger’s DRIVE speech HERE.
“It was a teary, heart-to-heart talk,” Martha recalls. “It wasn’t just about their success – it was about everyone’s potential. If they could do it, so could the others in that room.”

That kind of moment is exactly what makes the DRIVE Awards so powerful: they acknowledge the grit behind the growth, and they inspire others to believe it’s possible.
Motivation That Matters
What really sets these certifications apart is how they fuel momentum – not just for the recipients, but for every shop owner watching from the audience. They create a clear, motivating pathway for improvement. As Larry puts it:
“It gives real hope to many of our clients who are starting off, or who haven’t gotten as far as they want. They see that the DRIVE Program works – if they use the tools and trust the process, they can change their business and their life.”
The awards don’t just look good on a shelf (though they do). Shops use them in marketing, social media, recruiting and community outreach. Inside the shop, the awards validate the team’s hard work and build morale. They also serve as mile markers in a much bigger journey – a journey toward business independence, strong leadership, and real freedom.
“The team is proud of those trophies,” Martha says. “It’s not just the owner who gets the win. The shop feels it, the family feels it. Teammates celebrate. These awards matter.”
So… What’s Next?
Every year, the DRIVE EXPO honors a new wave of winners, each one with a story worth telling. And every year, more shop owners set their sights on earning their first – or next – certification.
“We have the path to follow to win this game,” Larry says. “And when we say winning, we mean not just money – but a whole better life for you, your family and your team.”
“Don’t give up on reaching your dreams!” Martha adds. “If others did it, you can too.”
The DRIVE Management Certifications are open to every client who is ready to step into their role as a true business owner. All it takes is a decision to begin – and the willingness to grow. The coaching, checklists and structure are there to guide every step.
So whether you’re just getting started or you’re already eyeing that Sustained Master Elite title, know this…
Your hard work will be seen
Your success will be celebrated
Your journey does matter
